we're closing our floral department

To our valued customers and friends,

As you are probably aware, I am passionate about our business and am always looking for ways to improve your experience here at The Gardener’s Center.

Every decision I make is to further serve your interests and strengthen our commitment to sustainable, earth-friendly practices and environmental stewardship.

Which is why we are discontinuing our traditional floristry services as of March 31.

My father laid the foundation for our family business in September of 1980, and I became an unofficial member just six years later, toddling around the premises and causing delightful chaos.

This early immersion fostered a profound love for the plant world within me, a testament to my father’s patience and vision.

As the business evolved from its eclectic origins—offering everything from plants to peculiar wicker baskets and seasonal decorations—to a specialized haven focused on plants, I grew alongside it, dedicating my life to understanding and advocating for the green industry’s pivotal role in creating healthier, more sustainable communities.

Upon returning to the helm in 2015, inspired by experiences gained and lessons learned from leaders in the field, I steered our operations towards a more environmentally-conscious approach.

We phased out chemical treatments in favor of supporting local ecosystems with native perennials and ceased the sale of non-sustainable goods. My journey has also been enriched by networking with garden center owners nationwide, gaining insights into best practices and innovations, and shaping our vision for the future.

This vision led to the decision to rebrand as “The Gardener’s Center,” focusing more intently on plants and their impact on our environment and community.

We aim to transform your shopping experience by:
  • Refining our product offerings
  • Enhancing our space to include seminar areas
  • Providing improved facilities for customers and staff
  • Offering an increased range of plants

Although we are moving away from the floral aspect of our business, we remain committed to being your go-to source for everything plant-related for all of your special moments.

Incorporating our commitment to education and environmental stewardship, we strive to connect you more deeply with nature and support local growers, sharing their stories and the origins of our plants.

We believe in enriching your experience with us, encouraging younger generations to engage hands-on with gardening, and underscoring the importance of nurturing our environment.

There is still a way to go until the final unveiling of our remodel, but changes are already underway, and you will see improvements as early as next week!

As we phase out our florist services, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Jaime and Lauren for their dedication.

While we recommend supporting our friends and other local florists for your floral needs, we eagerly look forward to continuing to serve your plant-based desires and curiosities.
