Rare, Rhizomatous, and Humidity-Loving

Begonia natunaensis is a botanical gem from the Indonesian island of Natuna — a rhizomatous species discovered in 2014 and prized for its elegant white blooms, uniquely textured foliage, and love of lush, humid environments. This rare beauty brings tropical vibes to any collection and arrives in a 3–4 inch nursery pot.

Adaptable to bright shade and partial light, Begonia natunaensis thrives with a little extra humidity and prefers to dry slightly between waterings. It’s compact, easygoing once established, and perfect for collectors or adventurous houseplant lovers ready to level up.

Light: Shade to partial shade
Water: Allow soil to get fairly dry between waterings
Humidity: Prefers 55% or higher
Mature Size: 18–24" tall
Soil: Well-draining mix with moisture retention
Container: 4" nursery pot *POT NOT INCLUDED*
Fun Fact: This species was previously mislabeled as Begonia phuthoensis — a plant from Vietnam — but was officially identified as Begonia natunaensis in 2014.
