Pre-Order Now for Spring 2025 Pickup: Didiscus 'Lacy White' — A Delicate Showstopper, New to The Gardener’s Center

Meet Didiscus, also known as White Lace Flower — an elegant, airy annual that’s brand new to our collection this year. We're offering it for the very first time in three soft, romantic shades: Lacy Blue, Lacy Pink, and Lacy White.

With its tall, graceful habit and delicate blooms that resemble Queen Anne’s Lace or pincushion flower, Didiscus is the perfect companion for perennial borders. It blooms nonstop from the time you plant it until frost — offering consistent color and charm while your perennials come and go.

This is a plant-for-the-ground, not for containers — it’s tall and meant to shine in the garden. And yes, butterflies love it.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • New to The Gardener’s Center: You’ve never seen this in our lineup before — and your neighbors probably haven’t either.
  • Three Romantic Colors: Choose from soft Lacy Blue, delicate Lacy Pink, or crisp Lacy White.
  • Lightly Fragrant Blooms: Offers a soft, sweet scent that adds another layer of charm to garden beds and bouquets.
  • Nonstop Bloom: From May planting through first frost, Didiscus keeps blooming without pause.
  • Ideal for Perennial Borders: Adds height, texture, and color to your mid-to-back beds all season.
  • Exceptional Cut Flower: Perfect for homegrown arrangements — delicate, graceful, and long-lasting.
  • Butterfly Magnet: Especially attractive to butterflies — a beautiful pollinator pick.

How to Make It Happy:

  • Light: Loves full sun — the hotter, the better.
  • Soil: Well-drained soil is key to keeping it thriving.
  • Water: Water when the soil feels dry, but once it’s established, it’s quite drought-tolerant.
  • Height & Spread: Grows 3–4 feet tall and 18–24 inches wide.
  • Where to Plant: Straight into the garden - especially perennial beds. Not suited for containers.
  • Hardiness: Perennial in zones 8-10, but in CT, treat it as an annual!
  • Please Note: Didiscus is not deer resistant. If deer are common in your area, we recommend planting in protected spaces or pairing with deer-resistant companions.
